Getting near them while there is a bigger opponent nearby that looks as if it might eat you will mean that you get to be safe from getting gobbled up. if you need some time before you can start your attack, this is the best way for you to ensure that you will get that time that you need.
It pays to wait for bigger cells to split before you start attacking them. This usually happens when these cells are trying to attack smaller dots that are on the field. When you attack a big cell that has just split and eat its split parts, you get to take advantage of the chance to grow bigger, and you get to cause your opponent to diminish his size.
If there are cells that you are having a hard time attacking, your next step is to take advantage of getting your cell split into various parts, this allows you to split yourself into smaller parts which will be able to move faster and will offer you to have a faster ability to attack the other smaller cells that you want to catch. As you play more and you master these attacks, you get to be a better, more accomplished player along the way.
